Community Service

Community Service is an integral part of the Grange that allows local members to interact and serve the communities where they reside.
Granger members participate in big and small projects, partner with other community organizations, they fundraise for various causes within their community and nationally. Serving our communities whether it is helping our neighbor in need or bake sale to raise money for the local school, you can always count on the Grange being involved.
Our local Grangers recognize outstanding citizens in their communities, like fireman and policeman and support other Youth Organizations. This allows for Grange families and other citizens to participate in community service.
High Desert Grange has provided and will continue to provide community service projects.
Northern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery Wreath Cleanup:
High Desert Grange reaches out to Goat and Sheep producers to help the cemetery save money on the disposal of the Christmas wreaths placed by Wreaths Across America. This keeps them out of the landfill and naturally recycles the wreaths.
Clean, camp and canoe: State park clean up, High Desert Grange once a year goes to Lahontan Lake for 3 days for a camp out and Clean up. The State Park rangers provide us with instructions on what they would like done, from cleaning camp areas, Trash clean up, to cleaning and making new camp sites.  All families are encouraged to come and help.

Wood for Warmth: High Desert Grange finds families in our community that are unable to cut wood or afford to buy wood. We deliver cut wood to these families.
Holiday food baskets: High Desert Grange gathers food items to make food baskets for families in our community that may need a little help.
Ornament spectacular:  High Desert Grange Families decorate a Christmas Tree for the “Lights of Christmas” Tree Auction.  The Proceeds from the Tree sales goes directly to Toys for Tots which buys gifts for disadvantaged Children.
Elderly visits:  High Desert Grange makes cards to deliver to the elderly that are in Adult Care facilities.
