in May, scholarships were awarded to five island students: Ellen Howard, Jazmin Torres Martinez, Gracie Nelson, Adam Wolfe and Micah Malone.
Scott Gall, Soil and Water Conservation District, shared the success of the new culvert on Dairy Creek. With fish counters in place, the number of fish entering the creek to spend a little time in Sturgeon Lake was great news. Elections for SWCD board will be held later this year . GWA – June 26, 2024
Third Wednesday of Every Month at 1:00 pm – Except for this month when the date will be moved one week.
On Wednesday, June 26th, we are hosting an island garden tour from 10 am to 2pm. Arrive at the Grange at 9:45 for carpool arrangements. We will be visiting four beautiful island gardens. Bring a sack lunch to enjoy in one of these gardens.
Yoga is coming to the Grange starting on June 17th. Every Monday from the 17th to the 29th at 8:30 am. The yoga will be led by yoga instructor Barb Steif. Please RSVP to [email protected] to confirm.
In July, we are taking a tour of Bailey Nursery July 23rd from 9:00am to 11:00am. We are traveling on a bus provided by Bailey’s and we only have room for 12. Seven people have already signed up at the Community Association meeting. First come, first serve by contacting GWA President Nancy Balkowitsch, 530-713-9944.
