Walpole Grange #125 Awards Night

Walpole Grange #125 held its annual community Awards Night on Tuesday, May 15th at the Walpole Town Hall. 93 people were on hand to help honor and celebrate the recipients, with 26 grange members among them. Worthy Master Kathy Yardley presented the following awards:
Community Citizen – Lou Kaletsky, for his outstanding work as scoutmaster for the Walpole Boy Scout Troop 299.
Educator – Major John Cenney, director of the Fall Mt JROTC program.
Police Officer – Chief Michael Paquette, for saving a drowning man and solving a large case of a string of burglaries.
Firefighter – Jeff Vose, driver of Engine #2, for dedicated service.
Youth Service – Walpole Girl Scout Troop, for their many service projects.
Young Farmer – Emily Malnati, pursuing a career in agri-food venture and eco-gastronomy
Agriculture Award – Barnett Hill Vineyard, the Carter-Kranowski family.
Business – L.A. Burdick Chocolates, for producing a multi-faceted business which has revived
downtown Walpole.
Sister Yardley also presented three membership achievement awards – a 25 yr certificate to Sara (Yardley) Beauregard, a 50 yr Golden Sheaf certificate to Alice Albro and a 50 yr certificate and 55 and 60 year seals to Gwen Yardley. Three other members were not present but were recognized – Harold Putnam a 55yr seal, Bill Fletcher and Carolyn Shelley 60 yr seals.
Following the award presentations Seth & Candi Sawyer and their young sons Adam and Matthew entertained with several bluegrass selections. Refreshments and fellowship were enjoyed by all.
