Still moving along in 2021

Through Zoom and a couple in person meetings, Gratiot Grange has been moving along.  Although many of our activities are limited due to the pandemic, we are still making favors and treats for the Ashley Nursing Home residents.  They enjoy the creative items we make and most of the times are able to eat.

This year is our region’s turn to host State Session and one fundraiser we’ve been working on to raise funds is a pop can drive.  Members have been collecting pop bottles to help fund our Grange’s portion.  We are close to the goal and may continue to collect to help fund other projects.

A Difficult Year

This has definitely been a difficult year for Gratiot Grange as well as many others throughout the country.  The Covid 19 pandemic has made for a lot of changes and cancellations.  We have not met personally much at all since winter.  We have started to have zoom meetings and we are doing what we can to keep the Grange afloat.   One of our projects each year is to occasionally make some type of tray favors for the local nursing home, which we have continued to do several times.   We also made and sent “thinking of you” greeting cards for the residents to brighten their day and let them know we are thinking of them.  Many of our planned projects have had to be cancelled, but once this virus has moved out we will hit the road running and get it back in shape.
