Uxbridge High Senior awarded Grange Scholarship.

UXBRIDGE- Uxbridge Grange #200 is pleased to announce that Hollie Ann Sokoloski, a 2014 graduate of Uxbridge High School, has been selected as the 2014 recipient of the Uxbridge Grange Scholarship. The Grange Scholarship is designed to honor an Uxbridge student who excels in the classroom but is also active with community service work in the community and provide them with extra aid in paying for their education. Special consideration is given tostudents who are planning on majoring in the fields of agriculture, conservation, and/or environmental studies.

Sokoloski will be attending the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cobleskill in the fall to study Plant Science. “After reading her application it was clear that Hollie is very passionate about agriculture and giving back to her community,” said Uxbridge Grange President Christopher Szkutak, “she stood out from other applicants because of her commitment to study our environment and her goals of making a difference in our world.” Giving credit for her love of gardening and plants to her father, Miss Sokoloski works at Greener Acers milking and feeding cows. When not on the farm, Sokoloski played Varsity Field Hockey and Softball and coached a Lassie League softball team.

Founded on March 30, 1893, Uxbridge Grange is a fraternal, community organization with a focus on community service, agriculture and family. The Grange is very involved in the community and meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month with fun and interesting programs.
