Gore Place – the historic estate of Charles Gore, former Governor and a founding member of the MA Society for Promoting Agriculture, offers insight into the working farm with chickens, sheep, and produce as well as a tour of the historic mansion. Dating back to the 1700s, learn about the Leicester Longwool breed and how it differs from raising today’s modern breeds. https://goreplace.org
Wilson Farm – A third-generation family farm in Lexington grows fruits and vegetables and sells them directly to the consumer in their large farm stand. In addition to seeing the day-to-day operation, lunch will be served and time allowed to shop for fresh produce. http://www.wilsonfarm.com
Golden Skep Farm – Recently voted one of the best flower farms in New England by Yankee Magazine, the beauty of the daylily, hosta, and perennial gardens will be the scene as visitors are greeted by Carl and Elaine Wickstrom. 5:00 p.m. Bus returns to Holden Senior Center.
