  1. Thank you for posting this history. I have been interested in finding an accounting of how the grange was formed and when it was relocated from Porter to Sharon. This is a very good article. I appreciate the author’s thoroughness. As a kid of the neighborhood, I spent a lot of time at the grange. All great memories.

    1. Hi Chris!
Thank you for your kind word regarding the history of the Sharon Grange 800.
There is more to come as you may have seen by the new addition of pictures we just added to the Sharon Grange History.
These old pictures of Porter Washington and Fords Prairie on South Bank Road in Oakville Washington literally bring the historical words to life within the History of the Sharon Grange page now.
We will update more as time will allow in order to have more historical photos of the grange and perhaps more of Porter itself to come in the near future.
You may be interested to know, since you had great childhood experiences with the Sharon Grange in the Porter Washington area, that you can upload old photos of the Grange or area you might have, along with your own story about each one.
We will review your posts, just as we did here in this one, and then once approved, we’ll incorporate your story and photos into the Sharon Grange’s website.
Who knows, perhaps we’ll create even more history of the Sharon Grange 800 for other to enjoy when we add their own history to the pages.
Thanks again for contacting us and letting us know what you think about the site in these early stages.
All the best to you and your family!

  2. What a wonderful start to our Sharon Grange #800 website. I need to get some of the pictures from last year’s centennial fair booth that showed “then” and “now” for several items associated with our grange. Thank you to the Baileys for helping make this site possible.

    1. Hi Deb,
including Pictures on this website will be minimal (20 MB max space available) because that’s all the space the National Grange will offer. That is why we need the Facebook page to link to for the massive amounts we all have at our homes.

      Thanks for the visit!
