We start with a covered dish dinner and then have a speaker and business meeting.
The Grange promotes agriculture as an essential part of our economy and promotes the wise conservation of natural resources and the environment. Grassroots involvement in governmental issues is proposed through the development of legislative policy and through the encouragement of political participation.
Past meetings have featured presentations about a wide variety of topics:
- Edneyville Library with Librarian Gabby Burnett
- State Representative Jennifer Balcom, NC House District 117
- Donnie Ross, Henderson County Sheriff’s Department, recognized as National Grange Law Enforcement Officer of the Year
- Kenny Barnwell’s induction into the WNC Agricultural Hall of Fame was recognized
- Dick Wilcox presented about the rules for the upcoming election
- American Chestnut Association with Jamie Van Clief, Chestnut Coordinator
Community Projects
- Donations to the Humane Society
- Blessings in a Box, Christmas donations through the Storehouse
- Sponsoring Boy Scout Troop 605 and Cub Scout Pack 605
- Helping at various Henderson County Parks & Rec events at the Edneyville Community Center
- Collected books for SmartStart
- Participated in ribbon cutting for the new pickleball court at the Edneyville Community Center
- Twice annual roadside cleanups on Gilliam Road
- Provided supper for Edneyville Fire and Rescue
