We are so thankful for those who have supported our LCHIP matching fundraising efforts in the early stage of the event!

Antrim Grange is raising funds for a $10,000 matching grant awarded by LCHIP (Land and Community Heritage Investment Program) for the replacement of our badly deteriorating roof, scheduled for completion this fall. Our goal is to raise $15,000 through this fundraiser, for a total of $25,000 for the entire project.

To raise these matching funds, we are kicking off a “Buy a Bundle” (of shingles) campaign. Donations in ANY AMOUNT will be gratefully received, however for those who can afford a bit more, here is a breakdown of how a contribution can advance the project:

___ $60/bundle of shingles,
___ $200/bundle & underlayment,
___ $600/square, which equals 100 sq. ft., completed

About New Hampshire’s Land and Community Heritage Investment Program
The New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program is an independent state authority created by the legislature in 2000. LCHIP’s legislative mandate is to ensure the perpetual contribution of natural, cultural and historic resources to the economy, environment, and quality of life in New Hampshire. LCHIP does this by providing matching grants to New Hampshire municipalities and non-profits to conserve and preserve the state’s most important natural, cultural and historic resources. The program has provided 530 grants which have helped to conserve close to 300,000 acres of land for food production, water quality, ecological values, timber management and recreation and has supported projects to study and rehabilitate 324 historic structures and sites. Grants have been awarded in all parts of the state and in 179 of New Hampshire’s 234 communities. Fifty-four million dollars of state money have led to a total project value of more than $312 million. The money for LCHIP grants comes from fees on four kinds of documents recorded at the Registry of Deeds in every county of the state.

We had a successful Flash Sale a couple weekends ago, but still have LOTS of fabric, some yarn, silk flowers, and some crafting odds and ends. In case you had a conflict or didn’t hear about the first sale, we will open up the hall again this Saturday, October 29th from 9-noon for Flash Sale II!

A mother lode of fabric has been delivered in anticipation of our Fabric and Craft Supplies Sale to be held on Saturday at Antrim Grange. Here is a peak at some of the treasure contained in these 3 trash barrels, 3 plastic totes, 5 suitcases, 2 duffel bags, and several garbage bags of fabric.
There are pieces and there are yardage lengths. There are knits, corduroys, felt, batting, stuffing, decorator, upholstery, fake fur, and cottons. Please come check it out between 9am and 12pm on Saturday, October 29 th.

Antrim Grange’s fourteenth annual Spotlight on Community Artists exhibit will be held Friday, June 17 through Sunday June 19 at the Antrim Grange Hall. Local amateur and professional artists, and Grange members, are invited to exhibit their works.

Antrim Grange’s Art Exhibit program has a three-fold purpose: (1) To encourage local artists by providing an exhibit environment, (2) To engage the local community in supporting local artists, and (3) To provide an opportunity for the public to experience and enjoy the historic Antrim Grange Hall, which provides an excellent showroom to display fine art and photographic works.

This is an opportunity to display your art works locally and, if you wish, offer them for sale. A modest commission fee of 20% on sales will help fund Antrim Grange’s scholarship program.

To promote community fellowship for viewers and artists, we will celebrate the Evening Gala on Friday, June 17^th, 7-9 p.m. with refreshments, musical entertainment, and a door prize.

We will continue the popular People’s Choice Award, which is selected by popular vote of guests and patrons of the exhibit.

Art drop-off: Wednesday, June 15^th, 10am – noon, 4pm – 6pm. Other drop off times can be arranged if these times do not work for you.

Friday 2pm – 5pm Art Viewing

Friday 7pm – 9pm Evening Gala and Art Viewing

Sunday noon – 4pm Art Viewing and People’s Choice Award presentation at 4:00pm

Sunday Art Pick-up by 5pm or previously arranged pick-up time after Sunday

Applications are due by June 10^th. Your cooperation with this deadline will be gratefully appreciated and helps us produce the best possible exhibit to properly and professionally show off your work. If you are a first-time exhibitor, we will also be grateful to receive a short bio about you and your work that will be included in our program book, which all patrons receive upon visiting our show.

Antrim Grange to Honor the Community

Antrim Grange’s annual Community Awards Night will be held May 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Antrim Grange Hall. Community Citizen, Educator, Agriculturalist,  and Community Spirit awards will be presented to recipients selected by the members of the Grange.

All interested and grateful community members are invited to come to this event and help us thank our local volunteers and to taste-test entries in the Grange’s pie baking contest at refreshment time.

Antrim Grange was organized in 1883 and has been serving the community ever since. We meet the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Typically we do our business meeting early in the month and save our second meeting for an activity, speaker, or program. We meet at the Antrim Grange Hall at 253 Clinton Road.
