Wood River Victory Garden Course

A series of Gardening Classes are offered in the Spring of 2018, in partnership with the Grange, the Hunger Coalition, The Hailey Public Library and the UI Extension.
The full program includes classes, online YouTube videos, onsite workshops, and online documents. Registration is now open to start accessing the online YouTube channel.

So far 3 classes have been scheduled and will be held at the Hailey Public Library, 7 West Croy Street in Hailey, 3 Tuesdays, 5:30 to 6:30 pm

March 27th - Planning your garden

Location, micro-climates, beds, containers, sun expose,
preparing your soil, water source, what to grow & how much

April 24th - Seeding the garden and indoor starts

Choosing seeds, how to start seeds,
indoors & outdoors, when, transplanting, soil

May 29th - Composting and bugs

Compost as an amendment and fertilizer,
home composting, worm composting, pest prevention

These introductory level classes are free and open to all. Please register by contacting Sarah Busdon, UI Extension at (208) 788-5585, by email [email protected], or in person at 302 1st Avenue South in Hailey, Monday to Thursday. Upon registration, participants will be given access to the online video channel. You will also receive our full schedule and links to other suggested resources via email.
