Wow, is it cold tonight. Hope everyone is cuddled up with a warm blanket and a good book. 4 degrees with a strong wind from the West.
Many thanks to all who helped at the Moose hall for the breakfast last Sunday. We served 287 people counting children as well as adults. It went real well, lots of compliments on the food, and our tip jar brought in $60.00. Final figures are not in as of yet.
February 2nd, Groundhogs’s day, the quilting group will be meeting at Emalee Colver’s home, 13060 Denny Road for quilting . Everyone is asked to bring material to make a table runner. There should be ¼ of a yard of theme print and ½ yard of a coordinating print. You will also need two buttons to attach to the table runner. Bring a snack and enjoy the day 9-3.
Boco is February 2nd at the community building. Anyone wishing to man the booth should contact Tom at 815-262-7793
At the last meeting, the dues structure of 2013 was selected. Members paying dues before April 1st will pay $18.00. Dues paid after that date will be $24.00. A new member will pay $2.00 per month for the rest of the year including the month in which they join.
February 12th Dues paying supper with a regular meeting to be held after the supper. Serving committee will be Roger and Sharon Miller, Bob and Penny Kreiman, and Kathee and Terry Frazer. It will be a potluck supper.

Remember, those wishing to apply for a scholarship through the Illinois State Grange, applications must be in by February 20th. For more information contact me or Tom.
February 24th is the fundraiser for Boone County Pomona Grange. It will be a chili dinner serving to begin at 11:00 am. Flora Grange is to take tickets and bus tables as well as supply the paper products. I have offered to purchase the supplies. If you can give a hand in bussing tables it would be greatly appreciated.
March will see another breakfast at the Moose Hall on the third Sunday of March, March 17th. Hope you mark your calendar now and reserve the date.
The flu bug has hit many of our members, so everyone is encouraged to avoid large crowds where there might be coughing and sneezing. We certainly hope that everyone is on the mend real soon.
It is time to start thinking of individuals, both member and non-member, who do a lot of community service hours. Suggestions will be taken during the meeting on possible recipients for Community Service recognition awards.
Spring is right around the corner, but we are drastically in need of moisture, in any shape; rain or snow. Keep your fingers crossed.
