March 2019 Grange Meeting

We are still having our Grange Meeting this Tuesday and Pizza will be provided by the Grange for the potluck. If you would like to bring anything, salads or something to go with pizza would be nice, don’t feel that you need to especially if you don’t have power.

Douglas Electric is sending a rep: General Manager, Keith Brooks, to answer questions and show slides of the devastation from the snow storm.

Free Food Hero Program for Kids

The Lookingglass Grange Farmers’ Market is participating in the free, Food Hero Passport Program for Kids. Children ages 3 and up get a Food Hero Passport to receive stamps each week. They get a $2 voucher each week to spend on fruits and vegetables. There are activities and prizes, too!

The program will be operating in Lookingglass from June 7 to August 9, from 2:30 – 5:30 pm. Bring your kids to 7426 Lookingglass Rd.

Lookingglass Parade and Cleanup Day; Farm and Community Day

The Lookingglass Parade will start at noon on Saturday, May 5, 2018. The weather is expected to be warm and sunny! Bring the entire family for an enjoyable day. Please show your community pride: help with the Lookingglass Parade and Cleanup Day by picking up and properly disposing of trash along the roads of our community.

We are pleased to announce that we have signed the world famous Douglas High School Jazz Band, a 16 piece ensemble, recently returned from state invitational concerts, to provide entertainment on the main events stage after the Lookingglass Parade. Under the direction of Hannah Abercrombie, this is a great group of musicians; a real treat for our Community. In the band will be baritone saxophonist Kevin Nelson, Lookingglass Explorer/Volunteer Firefighter. Approximately 1:15 pm start time, Saturday May 5th.

Food will be available for purchase, prepared by the Lookingglass Volunteer Firefighters Association. Various farm animals will be available for viewing and petting starting about 11:00 am. Some of the Lookingglass Farm Market vendors will have food products and plants for sale.

New Vendors at the Farm Market

Last week there were 2 new vendors at the Lookingglass Farm Market.

We are very pleased to have natural, grass-fed beef available from 2-B Angus.

We also have a new baker, The Muffin Lady, who indulges us with wonderful muffins and cookies, including gluten-free!

This week, we are expecting to have more new vendors. Come check us out. You’ll be glad you did! You’ll enjoy the variety of fresh produce, eggs (maybe even some duck eggs), baked goods, jams, clothing, jewelry, personal care products, crafts, and more.
