Minutes of the January meeting were approved with the correction of the spelling of Karen Saine and that the Youth Grange helped with the Lion Club’s Christmas Party.
Birthdays were celebrated. The directory was passed so members could enter any needed changes. Dues for the year should be paid by next month.
Kevin Smith provided the program. His family are missionaries and will be going to North Pole, Alaska. His home church is Oak Grove Baptist. After introducing his wife and seven children, 5 of whom are adopted, he told us about his calling to be a missionary and work in Alaska. His plans now are to return to Alaska with his family, take pilot lessons and serve small communities that can be reached by plane.
Wendy announced that reports have been made to the State Grange. Don reported on the ECCA meeting held on January 11. Tim Hopkins is now in charge of the Edneyville Center. Needs presented included fixing the water problem in front of the building and a light at 64. A security system has been installed.
The Grange board met on January 21 and discussed programs and plans for Grange Month. Family Conference is March 16-18 at the Biltmore Park Hilton in Asheville. Med Assist will be the activity for Saturday and donation of personal hygiene items for this will be collected at the next meeting.
Flyers for upcoming events at the center are available. These include a Valentine party on February 12 for ages 12 and under, an Emergency Services program on February 20, and Tumbling Bears on Monday mornings.
Next meeting is on March 6.
The closing prayer was provided by Don Henderson.
Respectfully,
