Edneyville Grange and Community Development Club
July 2, 2019
The meeting was held at the Edneyville Community Center with Wendy Henderson presiding. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Wendy and followed by the invocation by Don Dalton. A delicious covered dish dinner was enjoyed by all. Happy Birthday was sung for those with July birthdays: Bill Berry, Barbara Rhodes, George Miner, and Parker Landers. None of whom were present. Volunteer hours sheets and a sign in sheet were distributed.
Mark Williams, Executive Director of Agribusiness of Henderson County, provided the program. He provided history of the organization, what is happening currently and that there would be a significant announcement shortly regarding the agriculture community.
The minutes for the June meeting were approved as sent.
Wendy announced that the Summer Food Program needs volunteers for 2 Wednesdays in August. The Grange provided potato chips for Touch A Truck on June 22. There will be Movie in the Park on August 16 and the Ice Cream Social and Chili on Aug 17. Canoe Grass will play for the Ice Cream Social.
Mary gave a report on state contests which are due August 1. We still need a military person.
New Business:
Jean requested a sheet for August events.
Mary requested that we present a resolution to the state grange regarding the release of autopsy results by the state in regards to an investigation before the family is notified. Dick will work with Mary and request help from Chris Anderson to write the resolution.
