Learn How to Grow Your Ag Business Through Local Markets at “Cultivating Our Community 2016”

If you’re a small farmer, grower, or producer of value added agricultural products it can be challenging to keep abreast of new market opportunities. East Sangerville Grange, in collaboration with the Piscataquis Soil and Water Conservation District, the Piscataquis County Economic Development Council, and the Piscataquis Healthy Community Project, is proud to present this exciting event that is all about helping agricultural businesses grow. The event runs from 10 until 5 on Saturday, April 9th and includes a great lineup of speakers who will talk about a variety of programs and resources available to help farms connect with local consumers, businesses, institutions and emergency food services that are looking to source local produce and products. The day ends with a casual and fun “Market Mixer” where attendees can spend time with presenters while enjoying some great nibbles made by Spruce Mill Farm. There is a $10 fee, which covers the whole day including the mixer and a delicious lunch provided by Stutzman’s Farm & Cafe. The agenda is set up so you can come to just one or two sessions, but we hope you will stay the whole day! Whether come from a multi-generational farm or are just breaking ground, this event will be worth your while! Doors open at 9:30. Presentations start at 10:00. Call 564-2321 ext. 3 for more information or visit http://www.grange.org/eastsangervilleme177/cultivating-our-community-2016/ to see the full agenda. Last but not least, please let us know you’re coming by sending an email to Kacey Webber at [email protected] Thank you!
