Internal Grange Trial Delayed

By ruling on April 15, 2013 in favor of an injunction requested by former California State Grange President Bob McFarland, a California Superior Court judge has prohibited an internal Grange trial until after the case between the National Grange and California State Grange, whose charter has been revoked.

McFarland requested the injunction just days before he was to come before three of his peers to answer to Grange charges filed against him by National Grange President Ed Luttrell in August 2012. The charges related to his actions and conduct while serving as State President.  The nature and extent of the charges have not been publicly released consistent with procedures outlined in the Grange Digest of Laws, ensuring due process.

The National Grange is disappointed with the ruling and is exploring all available options at this time.  The National Grange will continue its efforts to preserve the integrity of its Constitution and By-Laws and ensure that its rules and procedures are implemented completely and fairly.
