Activities

Our members attend a Dinner-Theater production each year at Progressive Grange.  We celebrate Grange Month in April with a display in one of four nearby towns, put articles in local papers  about the Grange, and present a Community Citizen of the Year award at a special meeting with the community invited.  Robert Koch is our “Community Citizen of the Year”recipient and Betty Hart is our “Granger of the Year.”  We had a program on  history of our Grange and Grange in general and invited the three local historical societies.  Monetary donations were made to three food pantries.  During the past year, our Grange collected 18,930 items in the form of soda tabs for Ronald McDonald House, box tops and Campbell Product labels for Education, Best Choice Bar Codes for schools, used eyeglasses for 3rd World Countries, cancelled stamps to purchase land for wildlife, fronts of holiday and all-occasion cards for a nursing home to use for arts and crafts, and coupons for military families to use overseas.  Our Grange helps with the Grange Booth at the St. Clair County Fair.  We participated with the other Granges in the county in a yard sale and bake sale to earn money for Trinity Services who provide activities for the disabled.  We donate items to an area Violence Prevention Center and also to the Humane Society.  Each year we provide dictionaries to third graders in four area schools so each have their own dictionary.  We had a successful 3-day, 2-night trip to Branson, Missouri, that our Grange sponsors each year with 32 people participating this past October.
