Join us on Monday,
June 24th at 8:00 pm
at the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Bedford, MA
From our Master’s blog post on the Bedford Patch Website:
One of the hardest things to do in life is to say goodbye. It is even more painful when that is the final goodbye brought on when a loved one passes away. It tears at the fabric of our lives and leaves a hole that can never be repaired. Yet we know that when we remember them, they live on in our hearts.
Every year we devote a meeting to remembering those who have gone before us. We remember those who have kept Bedford Grange going for over a century. We call to mind the sacrifices of those who have struggled to keep our country free. We remember those who lost their lives because of evil acts and those who were taken in natural disasters.
We place flowers upon our Bible as we call out the names of those who died over the past year and we place flowers to remember all those who have gone on to the “Great Grange Above” where we each receive that welcome plaudit, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
This year we will also place flowers in memory of the victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing, the recent mass shootings, and the tornados in the midwest. We pray for an end to violence everywhere. We pray that our knowledge of weather and changing weather patterns improves to the point where everyone is able to get to safety ahead of a powerful storm. And we pray for a world where each life is valued from the halls of power to the poorest hovel.
This act of remembrance is important and keeps us connected to those who have gone before. We are reminded that we are the holders of their legacy and it is up to us to decide how to honor it.
Join us as we remember those who have gone before and we elect our officers for the coming two years. The legacy is now ours to hold and we invite you to come and join us on our journey. We are always accepting new members!
