Morningstar Grange #311 - Home to the Northwest’s Longest Running, Weekly, Open Country Jam

January 28th, 2008 Posted in Grange Exchange

logo_small100.gifIn the Fall of 2007, the Jefferson Jammers celebrated its 5th anniversary of hosting the Northwest’s longest and most successful open country jam of its kind which is held each Wednesday at the Morning Star Grange #311 in Millersburg, Oregon (just north of Albany and West of Jefferson on the west side of I-5.) This weekly event begins at 6 PM and runs until 10 PM. Whether you sing, play an instrument, want to dance a waltz, two-step, line-dance or just want to sit and listen while you visit with some of the nicest people who come from near and far to attend the evening, you will be immersed in a long-time, almost forgotten aspect of life - socializing. Coupled with the quality and value that hosting the event in a Grange Hall brings, it is as if you have stepped into a better world, where people are polite & courteous. There are families, children, youth and people of all ages who participate from all throughout the Willamette Valley, from Washington, Arizona, Alaska, California and even Tennessee, which a surprise visit from Sara Evans with her friends and children stopped by to check out the scene and Ms. Evan’s even graced our stage and sang a song for the audience. There are on average about 125+ people who attend the event each week and more than 20+ musicians & performers. We welcome you to stop by in your travels on any given Wednesday. There’s always coffee on and a few goodies and more depending on the time of year.
